As with any science fiction fantasy series, there were spin offs such as comics, novel series, hardback (Whitman usually) novels, paperback books, coloring books, viewmasters, unaired episodes, unfilmed scripts and scenes, fan fiction, annuals, stories in anthology annuals, different versions (such as the movie VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, the SPACE FAMILY ROBINSON outline by IB Melchior, the comic SPACE FAMILY ROBINSON, the 1989 Japanese animated version called SPACE FAMILY CARLBINSON with an alien space family of performers who find a human girl called Corona), and many other versions of the series. Spin offs can be considered as part of alternate universes and parallel universes, some with more than one story in any one particular universe. Other spinoffs can fit in perfectly with the series since there are not many changes made (such as the two THE TIME TUNNEL Gold Key comic issues). Others are so radically changed or radically different as to never accommodate a spot in the aired television chronology. The following list is by no means complete but gives some basis for the six Irwin Allen series (the actual television episodes and on rare occasion, one or two of the spinoffs) being set in the same universe. For the most part, this article will deal with only the TV series timeline with some exceptions. TIME SPIRITS 4-A BOY AND HIS DINOSAUR-Doot leaves this time with a dino-boy who he loves. They also stop a time traveling trio from the future who were hunting dinos. This changes two of them and they live happily in the past--first eating one of the changed (into a pig) companions at first. The other, a female, turns back from a pig and the pair live in peace with the dino beings and have a daughter. A disease kills the couple and the dinos. The Spurtyn is really a happy creature evolved from the machines of long dead planetmakers. It has to drain its grief and sadness from itself before it can return home. And Cusick must tell it that it can go. Part of the water was sent to Atlantis-where it wouldn't be noticed. Another part was sent to the Mayan Deluge where Cox Cox rode out the flood and kept the Mayans alive. And most of the water ended up with Noah in his time. Fire for records 1872-LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRARIE 1873-THE WILD, WILD WEST THE BOZZ CHRONICLES-6 issue comic series about an oversized, friendly alien who is stranded on Earth-London, England, likes to be without clothes. He is depressed and suicidal until a prostitute called Mandy (Amanda Charelle Flynn) saves him. Together they form a detective agency six months later. They stop an evil Dr. Pretorius (who looks like the BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN Pretorius) in issue 1. In the process, they meet an American (Southerner?) named Salem Hawkshaw (who looks like a Wild West version of Quentin Collins from DARK SHADOWS). They solve murders, werid time and space type crimes, mad scientist, kidnappings, etc. BOZZ-RAISING HELL-Issue 2 they fight demons called on by a man. Bullets bounce off Bozz. At the end, Jimmy Hoffa appears to be a murder victim. BOZZ-In issue 3, THE MAN FROM TOMORROW a street boy (part of a gang of good street kids) named Ollie at a carnival asks Bozz to take him home if he ever gets there. A press gang (working for slavers) attacks Bozz and blinds him for a time. They stop Dr. Paine from using his TimeShooter (Paine also has PaineHaven. We learn that where Bozz is from, people always tell the truth. BOZZ-Issue 4 has Bozz bored almost all the time. Issue 4 is THE COBBLESTONE JUNGLE-Bozz tells Mandy that culminating procedures on his planet require a tail. Mandy is buying all sorts of stuff for Bozz to keep him from getting bored. Bozz seasons his food with coins! Thames appears and so does Ollie. Col. Alex Carruthers had his home changed to resemble a jungle. He is a killer who tries to get away from them in a balloon. Bozz flies up and puts his finger in his gun but the man blows himself up with his weapons. Bozz needs a new suit--again--it is burned. Africans come to tell Bozz thanks--and he finds out that others of his race have been on Earth before and may be in Africa. BOZZ-5-WERETOWN the trio solve the reason that a full moon makes everyone in town go mad and they also solve murders-- a Satyr creature is about-it seemed to come out of a painting. Other monsters come out including the devil "hisself" as Salem said. Bozz gives off heat and melts the ice to retreive and burn the painting of evil and send the devil thing back. The man who tried all of this is Mandy's real father--but she tells Bozz he and Salem are her best family. BOZZ-Issue 6-KING SOLOMON'S SPACESHIP has the trio in Southwest Africa. Salem doesn't think Bozz is from another planet as Mandy worries that he may go off with his own kind and leave them. A German wants to capture and exploit Bozz. Bozz calls on baboons to help him. Mandy tells Bozz about the spaceship she found--at first she tried to cover it up. Bozz leaves them for awhile-- but walks--the ship is wrecked and old. He tells them he has friends and that is one thing on Earth he has. Inspector Fitzroy tends to get up Salem's nose but he helps drive the odd cases their way and while he and Salem fight in the last issue they also work together to save Bozz and Mandy. Hal wants to take his two older children with him back to Earth in any time he wants, leaving Edelman in charge of Earth's future and the little people here! Instead, Steve is sent back in time to 1986 in the hopes that his body will vanish from the lab. But he goes too far back and Edelman seems to win out. A surprising but depressing ending...consider this yet another parallel story.
